Hello Everyone,
In the past I've had the sites Roverholic and Camp Overland but have decided to dedicate Baja Overland for 2015 as our new family site. Since I don't have a Facebook, Twitter, or [insert social media account here] this is where I'll be posting pics and stories of our travels.
We are a family of 5 living in North County San Diego and travel extensively in Baja and beyond. I became obsessed with Land Rovers at some point when I was younger, always say it was a National Geographic magazine but who knows. All I know for sure is that when I saw a red Range Rover Classic around town in high school I knew I had to have one. In 2000, I purchased my first Land Rover which aptly was a 1994 Range Rover LWB. Since then we've had a P38, Disco I, two LR3's and a Defender. Every once in a while I'll question the sanity of this obsession but all it takes is a quick trip to Baja, Anza Borrego or any other random isolated piece of dirt to bring things back into focus. Yes, they are expensive to maintain and yes they get horrible gas mileage and NO they do not hold their value like a Toyota but they get you AWAY from it all and for me, that's what I'm looking for.
I'll be posting as often as possible and I'll warn you now that I'm a horrible writer. I will do my best to provide some detail for our adventures however, in the hopes that I'll motivate someone to get up from their desk, pack the truck and head off to enjoy Baja and beyond.
Cheers,
Paul
